What Is "Zion"?

By: Karon Webster

Answer 1: "Zion" was the Jebusite stronghold at Jerusalem captured by King David of Israel about 1000B.C.( 2 Samuel5:7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.) The name "Zion" is also applied to all of Jerusalem, and has been since the city fell to Nebuchadnezzar II in 586 B.C. "Zion" is Jerusalem. Zion is a place.

Answer 2: "Zion" was, and is used to refer to the house of God in the Bible ("Psalms9:11 Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion:"). Solomon’s temple was God’s house in ancient Jerusalem. ("1 Kings8:10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, 1 Kings8:11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD…1 Kings8:13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.") God had promised King David that He would allow David‘s son, Solomon to build a house for Him in Jerusalem. It was located in "Zion". So, "Zion" was, and is, God’s dwelling place.

Answer 3: In the psalms and the prophetic writings just prior to and after the destruction of Solomon’s Temple at Jerusalem, and the destruction of Jerusalem, "Zion" is used to refer to a people. ("Psalms125:1 They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.") ("Psalms147:12 Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion…Isaiah51:16 And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.") So, Zion is God’s people.

Answer 4:. Zion also refers to the ideal worldwide society headed by Messiah from Jerusalem envisioned by Judaism (Compton’s Interactive Encyclopedia, 1999, The Learning Company). ("Psalms2:6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion." "Isaiah24:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. Isaiah24:22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited. Isaiah24:23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously." ) "Zion" is the future seat of Government, Christ’s throne.

Answer 5: "Hebrews12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, Hebrews12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, Hebrews12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, …". Zion is the heavenly Jerusalem, the home of the spirits of just men made perfect. That includes modern day people who walk in relationship with Jesus Christ.

Answer 6: Our New Testament (New Covenant) understanding is that through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and through repentance, and relationship with Him, God can and does live in people’s hearts, and our body is God’s house, His dwelling place (Zion). "Romans11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? Romans11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. Romans11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion (Jerusalem, God’s people, God’s house) the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob (all of Israel and Judah): Romans11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins." Zion is the sum total of all people who trust Jesus for salvation, Jew and Gentile.

Life’s Great Question – WHY?

By: Donald Yates

Who Does God Reveal Himself To? The great question "Why" has forever been upon the lips of man as he ponders his own existence. Those few who have been able to answer this question were quietly passed by, unheeded, in the struggle for survival. The whys of the world is why we seek answers. Why is easy, God experiences Himself through His creation. He reveals himself to himself by experiencing himself. Sound, far fetched? Think about it. Who is God revealing himself to? Why would he have to reveal himself to anyone or anything? God is self contained, self motivated, in need of nothing, continually creating, and formulates all the rules. He doesn’t need to impress anyone, has no spouse or enemies – woe you say, what about Satan? Ha, nothing exist outside God, so God created Satan to complete his own experience. The fact is, good can’t exist without bad, there would be no reference point – one has to exist for the other to exist.

What Is The Meaning Of Life? Why brings the question of What. What is the meaning of life in the first place? Why create life extending into the future without purpose? Scholars, Professors, Theologians, great Religious leaders, have pondered this question from the dawn of time yet, no one can agree on its true meaning. Man is the catalyst, the go between, the deciding factor. Man decides, and creates an effect while God experiences the result.

Man struggles along the path of life with a heavy heart and bleeding feet only to find in the end the grave awaits. He harbors resentment, a sense of incompetence which besets his every avenue; and in his blind groping he lifts his hands in speechless anguish, and his weary cries stir the air with supplications to an apparently unheeding God. Where art thou oh Lord? Why do you forsake me in my hour of testing? And man shakes his fist at a God he no longer understands, because he is no longer willing to surrender. Man has become disconnected, disengaged in God’s creation. His greatest achievement gone astray, turned inward, crippled in his own self calamity.

. Why Do People Have To Suffer? Why the suffering, the sorrow, the sin, the sickness and a lifetime of trouble, only to be met at last by the grim and sinister tomb? Why are people destitute, troubled and unforgiving? Who can comfort in the loss of a child or see solace in the eyes of a dieing mother. Why do people inflict pain on each other for personal gain? And the tomb awaits, silent, cold, steadfast for man’s last performance.

Why, why, why? Man seeks wisdom only to discover foolishness; he seeks the learned only to find a lack of wisdom. Why, why, why? His cry has appeared to go forth into an empty void.

A Cry From The Soul But wait! from somewhere within, a whisper of an answer comes, some subtle inner sense of things; some unknown presence has surfaced to give an answer as a still small voice speaks, "Man, know thyself." And the inner man, gently prompts and prods as man goes wandering along in his own self indulgence. God has not turned away from man, it is man who has turned away from God. And God silently grieves for the finest in his creation.

Is The Natural Man Lost? The Instinctive (natural) Man has again spoken and told this lost creature to search more deeply into his own nature; the soul; to look deep within himself for the answer to life. Enter the closet and seek God’s answers for the hour has come in the progress of man when he can understand this voice and do its bidding. And if you are right with God, the answers will come, although at times, they will not be the ones you sought.

Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

We no longer have to cry in torment, we Know. We no longer need to ask if there is a God, or if we dare to speak to Him; we do not analyze, dissect, affirm, or deny, We know. We trust in God because first we "Know in whom we have believed." The sooner the one who is seeking realizes that truth must be revealed through his own soul, and not that of another, the sooner he will attain solace.

Is It Right To Prosper? Health, happiness and Success belongs to the children of God because they are the heirs of God’s promise. If His created creature has indeed become His adopted children then they have dominion over the creation through His promise. It is mankind who has dominion over the earth and everything in it, not Satan.

For sin shall not have dominion of dominance over you: for you enact the law through his grace.

What about life, how do you, as a God fearing person overcome worldly temptations? How do you fit in with non-believing family members, co-workers, friends, and the rest of the world? First off, let’s look at the makeup of man and the areas he must master to be a true Achiever.

"He who makes himself a sheep will be eaten by the wolves"

In the next article we will delve deeper into the mysteries of life as they impact the makeup of a believer. We will take one more step into the uncovering of the human spirit/soul connection and its importance as a broader, deepening of understanding within a material/spirit world.

The Bible is Not a Book of Rules

Author: Matt Robison

I have been contemplating a question that often seems to divide brethren; 'Is the silence of scripture restrictive or permissive?'

You know all the old arguments....'Can we have a basketball court?' Some say 'Yes, the bible doesn't forbid it!' Others say, 'No, the Bible doesn't mention it!' and round and round we go. Two groups, equally sincere, equally interested in following Christ's command to reach the lost, equally desirous to be found in Him; at odds with each other over this question.

What is the answer? The obvious answer is, 'THERE IS NO ANSWER!!!' That's why the debate is endless. It is shocking to some, obvious to others, that sincere people can look at the same bible and come to different conclusions about things. So now you say, 'Oh, ok, eddie...I see now, you're one of those post-modernist who doesn't believe in absolute truth!' No, you are wrong. There is absolute truth, and much, if not all of it is contained in the Bible. But we're not talking about truth here, we are talking about silence, and humans will ALWAYS fight over what it means.

I think the important thing for us to realize in this debate is that we are asking the wrong question! 'Is the silence of scripture restrictive or permissive?', no matter which side you stand on, is a question that makes a wrong assumption. This question assumes that the Bible is a rulebook; and this is wrong, wrong, WRONG! The Bible is not a law book. Have you seen law books, like at your lawyer's office? They are huge volumes that dictate laws that attempt to cover every possible situation. And still, even these are debated every day, in every courthouse in the world. Man cannot agree on laws, so why would you think that our God would be so foolish as to give us a law book?

The truth is, the Bible is not a book full of rules. It is a story. If you want to be fancy, it is a narrative. The problem for many of us, is that a story, or narrative is so much more subjective than a rule book. This is terrifying to many 'conservative' brethren. But what is so terrifying? To say that it is a narrative does not strip it of the absolute truth that God has invested in it! To say that it is a story is not to say that there aren't commands to be followed and examples to be examined.

We follow the story of the Christ. A story that begins before Genesis 1 and has yet to end. In the Bible, a written record of a portion of that story, we find principles and themes to build our lives around. Does the Bible tell me, specifically, not to take cocaine? no. Well is that permissive or restrictive?? NEITHER! I don't take cocaine because one of the fundamental principles of Christ's life and teachings is self control and devoting myself, body included, to the glorification of the Father!

To get back to our original example above. I don't worship at a church with a basketball court, but it's not because I think the silence of the Bible forbids it! I wouldn't want one, because how does that fit into what was important to Jesus? If I read the Bible and listen to it's principles and themes, where does a gym, or stain glass windows, or any of these other extravagances fit into the simple walk of my Savior and those that followed after Him and wrote of Him?

The truth is that if we try to make the Bible a rule book we fail no matter our position. If we try to be restrictive, we paint ourselves into corners and are forced to 'ignore' or explain away(usually with complicated, convoluted arguments) certain passages that don't fit into our world view. If we try to say that we can do whatever we want, we are ignoring the truth of the Bible that it is the standard by which we should live our lives! Neither position is tenable.

Christ calls us to walk a third path; His path. A follower of Christ will be, at times, more conservative than the conservatives, and more liberal than the liberals! We follow a Christ that called his disciples to have a greater righteousness than the Pharisees, and yet he often rejected their traditionalism! Let us all follow Christ and His word to the best of our ability!

Effective Prayer

By Alex Ziv

It doesn't matter if you are religious, not religious or a complete atheist, if you cast your mind back and examine your life path you will remember that in the most extreme situations when the pain and fear were enormous, suddenly some inner hidden feeling took over and caused you to sincerely pray with all your soul, a call for help to an extraordinary power to come to your rescue.

In these moments, all the judgment, cynicism and doubts vanish and this mysterious power takes over and with all your focus, your sincerity your might you scream out a prayer in the form of a plea for help and you believe and feel that there is someone listening to you that can help you following your sincere and decisive plea.

This is how miracles happen. I am convinced that this has happened to many of you and to millions across the world, this is because our subconscious is connected to the endless intelligence and when the extreme situation appears and the solution is beyond you - you truly face above and send a tremendous energy of focused plea.

We all contain this emergency mechanism, it is embossed within us but unfortunately the majority of us use it only in emergencies.

I have used it three times during my life successfully, which is why I am aware of this almighty power that is hidden in these moments of focused prayer.

In moments like this you are so focused that every bit of small energy is sent with your plea.

And you are asking with great sincerity that you bypass all your barriers along the way and arrive with the instructions of your plea exactly to the place from where things come true - and things really do come true.

We tend to call these situations miracles because we do not understand the science that is behind such a prayer.

What you have experienced in these moments is a pure implementation of the principals of the secret.

In these moments you have 100% belief and 0% doubt.

Belief is like a carrying wave that can carry within it instructions and update the endless wisdom.

In extreme situations life itself comes to your aid and this action is performed almost unknowingly by you.

A power stronger than you "the power of life" comes from within and takes over the whole process performing it to perfection.

And the result is what many people consider as a "miracle".

All the exercises and various techniques of the secret come eventually in order to perform what your subconscious has implemented in a very effective way when you really needed help.

To result in your plea/thought to reach the endless wisdom of the universe and from there to activate great creative powers that will realize your plea.

The endless wisdom of the universe is present in every particle of material and fills every empty space across the universe which is why it has the power to change reality.

Try to reconstruct amongst yourself these moments, break them into pieces and examine exactly what you had done.

Try to experience this process of prayer from the beginning and feel what exactly was activated within you? What thoughts? Feelings? Your intense focus? What words did you use? What where you doing physically?

The reason I recommend you to investigate this is because:

There is no limit to the number of times you can use this power.

And there is no limit to the number of times this energy will come to your aid.

The power of the effective prayer is available to you at every moment during your life.

You are always connected to the endless wisdom, you have simply developed various blocking mechanisms and the communication between you and this wisdom is not flowing freely like it should be.

Everything you will ask for in this intensity and with perfect concentration and belief should come true.

These are the laws of the universe and they work every time precisely.

The laws of the universe are not reserved only for extreme situations, in these circumstances the endless wisdom that is within you as in others, takes over and does the job for you.

However, if you understand the process and the opportunities within it, you can effectively pray also during normal situations.

The endless wisdom is available to you; it will fulfil on your behalf every request that is put to her correctly.

Ask with all your heart, focus and concentrate all your energy in your request, believe that there is an endless able, willing power and give it your full belief.

Ask intensively and following your plea release it knowing that it has been absorbed and it is being implemented by the strongest power of the universe.

Let God Himself Tell You That He Exists

By Lew Yew Yee

Here is an amazing story that my friend bro. Vincent Wong, the China press reporter, related to me about his experience with God. A testimony of bro. Vincent Wong, The China Press Reporter

"One night while I was lying in bed and was falling into sleep, I saw myself being lifted up and up slowly into the sky and then the lifting finally came to a stop. I looked around and saw there was nothing in sight except myself standing on air in the vastness of empty space stretching to infinity. Just at that moment I saw and felt there was an enormous and roaring force blowing over and filling the whole sky above me and then in the midst of the amazing force came a loud thunderous voice calling continuously from a far distance and approaching towards me and continuously calling my name. "Vin ---cent ---"

I was very shocked by such a loud deep voice. I did not know who was calling me in such a loud and powerful voice, so I replied: "Who are you?"
The voice said: "I am the Lord, your God"
I asked: "Lord my God. Why am I here? What do you want from me?"
"Look over to your front and read the words above" said the Lord.
I looked over to my front and at a little distant above, I saw a huge scroll appeared in front of me. The scroll was written in Chinese calligraphy, and I saw a line of words.
The first word was bigger in size than the others, and it meant PLACE, then followed by four smaller words which means 'Stay peacefully in the place, and be happy with your job' and I read out the words.

Then the Lord called my name in his powerful voice again, and He said to me: "Vincent would you like to do me a favor?" and I asked. "What can I do for you?"
Then the Lord said: "Vincent, Go and tell your church bro. Paul Teh , that the Lord wants him to stop fooling around, and go and work in the farm and sweat under the sun to make his own living. If he obeys my words, then his sins will be forgiven."

The Lord asked me again: "Would you like to do this favor for me? And I replied: "Lord, I am so happy that you have kindly come to me personally, and I am so happy to be able to meet you, the ETERNAL GOD, I am willing to do whatever you tell me to do".

Then The Lord said: "Very well, since you have promised to do this favor for me, you must do it. This is MY COMMAND!" The Lord then asked me to repeat loudly three times his message. I obeyed and repeated three times accordingly. After I had repeated the Lord message, I was suddenly transported into a path which led to a garden. I could see bright moonlight above this garden which I later believed was the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed before He was arrested by the soldiers led by some high priests. As I walked the small path that led to the garden I was wondering where I was, and suddenly in front of me, roughly the distance of stone throw, I saw a man in robs and his face was shining bright and his hands were holding an ancient emperor scroll which I had seen earlier in the sky. Instantly I knew he was Lord Jesus. I was so excited that I ran towards him, shouting and calling him "Brother Jesus".

It was in a moment of great excitement that I forgot to call him Lord Jesus as I should have. The Lord smiled at me and said: "Vincent, how are you?" I replied: "Lord, thank you so much for finally allowing me to meet you personally, you know since my baptism in 1979 and for the past 7 years I have prayed day and night to meet you."

The Lord said: "Vincent, here I am to fulfill your wish. By the way, you must remember well the message that I had given you when I appeared to you in spirit form in the sky. I replied: "Yes, Lord, I remember it clearly."

The Lord was in his majestic appearance, and with his right hand he pointed at me and said to me seriously: "Since you have promised me, you must keep your promise, and bring this message to your brother, this is my command!" At that very moment of his words, the holy fear filled my whole person, and I replied: "Yes, Lord I will do it" and just after these words I found my whole spirit come back to my body again and I woke up. I noted that it was 2am in the morning. After I was awakened, I couldn't sleep anymore and I climbed down from my bunker bed, while my colleague, who was still sleeping soundly below me, was oblivious to what had happened to me at all.

Then I held the bible in my hands and prayed to The Lord for confirmation of his message to me, and after that I opened the bible and instantly I saw the chapter 3:16-21, of the book of prophet Ezekiel, in the old testament, with the title: 'The Mission of Prophet', where God gave the message to the prophet to tell the people that if they refused to listen and repent for their sins, they would perish in their sins. God told the prophet that if he carried out the mission and passed the message to the people, then the prophet would not be liable for their blood debts, but if the prophet did not tell them about the words of God, and they died in their sins, then the prophet would be held responsible for their blood debts.

These words of God in the Bible frightened and shocked me so greatly that I almost fell down to the floor. When morning came, I called Siew Meng who was a church youth member and I asked him of the whereabouts of Paul Teh, and he told me that Paul would be in Ipoh the next day to take part in a youth gatherings at the church there, and so I decided to go to Ipoh to meet him. When the next morning came and I was about to leave my house to do what the Lord had asked me to do, I looked into my purse and found I had only twelve dollars. Twelve dollars was not going to take me far enough to look for that prodigal son as I called him. Under a different situation or circumstance I would have easily excused myself and would probably not take the trip for reason of insufficient money, but that was a totally different case.

It was the God's command to me! I decided to go and seek help from the company where I used to work before. That company still owed me six months of unpaid salaries. When I went there and talked to the person in charge to advance me a hundred dollars, the man told me that his company was in a dire circumstance. So failing to get the money, I went to my good friend Dr Pius Lim at his house to see if I could get some help, and there I told him about my experience with the Lord. He was greatly surprised and advised me to take the matter seriously. While I was there another good friend of mine by the name of Joseph Tan, who was an accountant, also came to the house and so I shared my experience with him too. The accountant said that he wanted to go to Ipoh town the next day, and that he would take me there. It was good news to me and I felt really happy about it. I believed then that the Lord knew I had insufficient money, and so had arranged a good driver to send me there with a comfortable Mercedes Benz.

The next day Joseph Tan drove me to Ipoh, but somewhere on the way we decided to stop for a drink. So we stopped at a place to rest and drink. I felt it was not polite to let him pay, so I paid for the drink. The drink cost me five dollars and I was left with seven dollars in my pocket. I was troubled for the rest of the journey because of the insufficient money that was left with me. I was now really in a dire strait. On reaching town in the night I was about to be left on my own to take a taxi to continue my way to Bukit Mertajam.

I knew there was no way I could do it with that little fiver I had left in my pocket to reach that prodigal son, so out of desperation I had to humbly ask the accountant for fifty dollars. But he gave me a piece of hundred dollar note because he did not have anything smaller. I believed the Lord gave me that hundred dollar note. I felt greatly relieved with the money in hand and I took a taxi to continue all the way up to Bukit Mertajam. At last I reached the old church, but it was dark and no one was there. I went further up the building and there I found the prodigal son sitting with my friends around a dinner table chattering. They already had their fill and there was just a little leftover on the table. When the prodigal son saw me he asked if the Lord had sent me to look for him, and I said "Indeed the Lord has sent me to give you a message.

The Lord asks you to go and work in a farm and sweat under the sun before the Lord forgives you". After having said that to him I felt I was so hungry that I sat down to eat without ceremony of what was left on the table. Anyway I felt so relieved for having done what the Lord had commanded me to do. But I frankly told the prodigal son that I would not have come to see him if the Lord had not commanded me to do so. I said to the prodigal son: "Look, I have no particular liking for you. And what is more, I had only 12 dollars in my pocket before I came this morning and it was almost impossible for me to come to meet you with that little money I had. It is because of the Lord that I am here to give you a message. So go and do what the Lord has commanded you to do".

After I had given the Lord's command to him I thought that I was going to put up a night somewhere in their gathering place, but to my disappointment they said that they were going to take a train back to Kuala Lumpur. They had to go because they had already paid for their tickets. But I was in no mood to go back after having just arrived. Anyway tired as I was I joined them for the journey back on the same train.

During the journey I was greatly relieved and happy, because I had fulfilled my promise to God, and had carried out the mission as a prophet. Paul Teh was greatly touched by God's message to him. He told me he wanted to be a good son of God and would follow God's instruction to be a farmer and earn an honest living. We and the other youths were so happy because merciful Lord had kindly shown Paul the right path.

Even though the whole journey was very tiring, my joy was overflowing, and I thanked God for giving me an opportunity to serve him directly. On arriving KL the next morning, an extraordinary thing also happened. A church brother came and conveyed to me some good news. He told me that Paul Lim who was an ex-Marist brother had recently helped few other Marist brothers to set up a farm in Melaka and needed some helping hands and Paul Teh could go there to help out if he wanted. After a few days, I accompanied Paul Teh to Melaka, to make sure that he obeyed the Lord by working in the farm. Everything had happened according to what God had instructed and planned. ALLELUIA, The Lord is great. Paul Teh had worked for sometime there in the farm.

Anyway, I praise the Lord, and now after 21years of that event, The Lord wants me to give this testimony again, through the help of bro. William, by printed this testimony in a book. Thanks to bro William also. And this testimony which I personally believe will spread all over the world to mark the wonderful works of God to his peoples. Amen

How Strong Is Your Faith

By Dean Ryan Martin

What if, Jesus Christ was really married to Mary Magdalene? Because of this question, Da Vinci Code is very popular around the globe. In reality, the book is damn good and well-researched. The movie is also incredible. One of my favorites as a matter of fact. Yet, have you ever thought of it? What if, Da Vinci Code is not only fiction but a tale of truth, which was kept into the innermost part of this world? What if, Dan Brown is just saying that his book is a work of fiction to conform to the Catholics' protocols?

If you ask me, there's nothing wrong if Jesus Christ was, indeed, married to Mary Magdalene. The fact that His Father sent His only begotten son here on earth, Jesus is somehow implying to us that He was once a human being with vulnerabilities. In this case, Jesus might also be a great sinner like us. I am not saying that you don't have to believe to those Children's books, which only traces the ideal inspiring life of Jesus. Those stories are true but I want to ask you: Did you ever ask yourselves what's the life of Jesus on the other side?

Basically, I can't really point a single trace of immorality if Jesus was married to Magdalene. He's brought in this world as a MAN; therefore, He possessed all forms of physical desires, which can be only satisfied by an opposite sex. Yes, Magdalene, according to the bible, is a prostitute. What's the BIG problem? No one is perfect. If Jesus fell in love with Magdalene then it somehow tells me that Jesus is not a prejudice. He doesn't judge the book by its cover. It only reveals that He's not only a GOD but also a Good Man while here on earth.

I'm not compelling you to believe. However, this world owns a huge land of mysteries waiting to be unfold. I'm not an atheist or a pious person, either. I'm open for any possibilities. I just don't rely what is written or what is coerced for me to believe with. There's a saying that says: For those who believe, does not raise questions. I don't believe; Questions are more important than answers, even if the question has no answer at all. The BIG problem with us is we are trying to speak, act and believe what is only perfect. Geez, perfection is boring! I know for a fact that life is complicated. Yet, we must not forget that everything happens for a reason. Like Da Vinci's Code, I'm somehow sure that there is a "truthful" reason behind its fictional tale, do you agree?

Don't Deny Jesus

By Chris Ayakhilome

Whoso ever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father.

As a child of God, you must be very definite about your commitment to Christ. The Lord Jesus made it abundantly clear that there can be no middle - ground when it comes to expressing your allegiance to Him-it got to be all or nothing.

Some people deny Jesus sometimes without knowing it. For example, someone may mockingly ask a Christian, "Are you now one of those born again folks?" and to protect his so-called "reputation" he evades the question and gives a general moralistic answer. He may not know it, but he just blew a big opportunity to identify with Jesus. He ought to have boldly declared "Yes! I belong to Jesus!" Some hide their Bibles when they are in the midst of others, so people won't know they are Christians; that's wrong.

The most honorable, sublime, and worthy personality you could ever be identified with is the Lord Jesus. Be proud of your association with Him and those for whom he died. Never tuck-in your head in shame when those who are unlearned in the things of God make derogatory remarks about Christians and what they believe. Be proud of your identity as a born-again, spirit-filled, tongue-talking child of God.

Nothing in this world is worth clinging to at the expense of your commitment to Christ. There is no greater honor than to belong to the Lord Jesus Christ! Stand up tall for him everywhere you are and let others know that you're a Christian. When you do, he too will stand up tall on your behalf.

Let God Arise In Your Life

By Chris Ayakhilome

Let God arise, let his enemies he scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him (Psalm 68:1).
When God arises in a man's life, all His enemies are scattered and all those that hate Him flee in terror! The question then is: how does God arise in a person's life? Is it by the person praying, "O God arise in my life, put my enemies to fight" what must you do for God to arise in that situation you've found yourself?

Firstly, I want you to notice the words "Let God arise", that's another way of saying "allow God to arise", This immediately shows that it's your responsibility to allow God arise in your life. Since the bible lets us know hat God and His word are one: "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and ht word was God" (John 1:1), it therefore means that giving God's word first place in your life is the way to let Him arise.

God doesn't need to part the heavens to arise in your life, for he lives in you. Rather, as you meditate on his word and speak in tongues, His word is stirred in your spirit - that's God arising in you! Then speak forth that word that has welled up in you as a prophecy. No enemy can resist the power of the spoken word!

When you're faced with situations where you need God to arise on your behalf, don't cry out as though you're helpless! Stir up the word of God in your spirit and release it through your mouth. Keep making such declarations as: "I have the life of God in me! I can never be poor in my life! Prosperity, health, and the good life are my birthright; the lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places!" As you do poverty, sickness, lack, and want will flee from you! Your faith in God through His word will rise like a giant and whip the enemy.

Desire To Prophesy

By Chris Ayakhilome

Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy (Corinthians 14:1)

The Bible says "There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they all come from the same spirit" (I Corinthians 12:4 CEV). Meaning that, there are several gifts that God imparts to His children through the agency of the Holy Spirit. But from our opening scripture, we can decipher that the gift of prophecy ranks above all the other gifts of the spirit that you should desire. God wants you to operate the gift of prophecy.

The gift of prophecy isn't just for apostles, prophets, evangelists or pastors; it's for the church! Every Christian ought to prophesy. To prophesy is to speak forth the word of God in power, whether by foretelling of future events, or as a rhema-word to cause a change in the now! The Bible says "But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church" (I Corinthians 14:3-4). When you declare the mind of God in prophecy, others are edified, strengthened and comforted.

So you see, prophecy doesn't make one a "spiritual detective" to fish out brethren who are supposedly not living right, it's for the edification of the Body of Christ. This is why you must desire to prophesy, for the words you speak forth in prophecy are words impregnated by divined energy.

Thus, with the gift of prophecy in operation in your life, you can never be in darkness as to what steps to take in life. Moses, in the Old Testament, understood the power and importance of prophecy and wished that all of God's children were prophets (Numbers 11:29). But thanks be unto God, now that we are born again and have received the Holy Spirit, we've received the divine enablement and inspiration to prophesy.

Consequently, whether you're praying on your own, or in the company of other believers, you can prophesy. As the word of God wells up in you under that influence of the Holy Spirit, open your mouth and speak forth those words in prophecy.

If you've never prophesied, begin to desire the gift of prophecy. The Bible says the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man (not some, but all) to profit withal (I Corinthians 12:7). This means you too can prophesy, and you can begin right now!

We Are Carriers Of God's Kingdom

By Chris Ayakhilome

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, the kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say Lo here! Or lo there! For, behold, the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:20-21).

In teaching the disciples how to pray, the Lord Jesus gave them a format; he said "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come ..." (Matthew 6:9-10). He taught them to pray in expectation of the coming Kingdom of God because at the time, he hadn't died and the world was being dominated by another kingdom, which is the kingdom of darkness.

However, when he met his disciples after his death, burial and resurrection, his message to them changed. He said to them: "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations..." )Matthew 28:18-19). All the authority in the universe was vested in Jesus and he has given us that authority as His Kingdom representatives. He wants you to go ahead and manifest His kingdom to the world. No wonder he said in Luke 17:21 "...behold, the kingdom of God is within you." There's no need to pray for the kingdom to come anymore, for that prayer has been answered in us- the new creation.

If you're born again, you have become the carrier of the kingdom of God; the kingdom is in you! When you arrive in a place, it means God's kingdom has arrived there. The world has suffered for too long from the influence of Satan's kingdom and it's up to us now to dominate this world with the principles of God's kingdom.

Rise up to your calling as a kingdom-carrier; don't allow the devil run things around you. You've been given the highest authority in the universe, the Name of Jesus to use in ruling over the devil and negative circumstances. You can put a stop to sickness, war, death, poverty and all the other corrupting influences of the kingdom of darkness. You can super-impose peace, righteousness, love, joy, health and prosperity in your own sphere of contact. Hallelujah!

Stay Filled With The Spirit

By Chris Ayakhilome

Reading the scripture above in the amplified translation makes it clearer, it says, "And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled (and) stimulated with the (holy) spirit". The fact that you've received the Holy spirit doesn't mean you're lost your mind as some people think! It means you're functioning under the control and influence of the Holy Spirit twenty-four hours every day. That's how God wants you to live.

Note that you don't get filled with the spirit simply because you said, "I'm now filled with the spirit". There're things you do that get you filled with the spirit. The things we ought to do to get us filled with the spirit are listed in the nineteenth verse: "speaking to yourselves (not others this time) in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord". This is how to be filled with the Spirit.

"Psalms" are spiritual poems sung or spoken to God in worship. "Hymns" are songs of thanksgiving and praise directed to God or about God. "Spiritual songs" are prophetic songs that come to you from the realm of the spirit. Such songs are filled with the Word of God, and sometimes they may come to you in other tongues. Then he says to "make melody in your heart to God". The melody might not sound melodic to someone else who's hearing it, but you're getting so blessed as you sing to the Lord!

Never leave home or embark on any endeavour without being filled with the Spirit. A good way to always get yourself in the flow of the Spirit is to start by speaking in other tongues. Before long, the words and songs of the Spirit will well up in you. You can't be filled with the spirit and experience sickness, failure, or lack. Your spirit will continually be energized for victory and success every day

The Transgression Of The Unnamed Prophet

Then the king said to the man of God, "Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward."

But the man of God said to the king, "If you were to give me half your house, I would not go in with you; nor would I eat bread nor drink water in this place. For so it was commanded me by the word of the LORD, saying, 'You shall not eat bread, nor drink water, nor return by the same way you came.'" So he went another way and did not return by the way he came to Bethel.

Now an old prophet {who} dwelt in Bethel, ... said to him, "Come home with me and eat bread." ..."I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, 'Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.'" (He was lying to him.)

So it was, after he had eaten bread and after he had drunk, that ... a lion met him on the road and killed him. And his corpse was thrown on the road, and the donkey stood by it. The lion also stood by the corpse. And there, men passed by and saw the corpse thrown on the road, and the lion standing by the corpse. Then they went and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt.

So it was, after [the old prophet] had buried him, that he spoke to his sons, saying, "When I am dead, then bury me in the tomb where the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones. For the saying which he cried out by the word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel, and against all the shrines on the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, will surely come to pass."

After this event Jeroboam did not turn from his evil way... (1 Kings 13:7-11,15,18,23-25,31, NKJV)

The unnamed Prophet had just given a powerful prophecy to Jeroboam, king of the ten northern tribes of Israel. This prophecy was immediately confirmed by the splitting of the idolatrous altar at Bethel and the withering of the king's hand that he had angrily pointed at the prophet. The prophet subsequently prayed for the restoration of Jeroboam's hand, and the Lord immediately healed the king's hand.

Jeroboam was so appreciative of his hand being restored, that he invited the unnamed Prophet to dinner. Since he had been warned by the Lord to refrain from eating, or even drinking water in the northern kingdom of Israel, the unnamed prophet refused Jeroboam's offer in obedience to the Lord's instructions, and left the area by a different route to return home.

On his way, the unnamed Prophet was met by an old prophet who lived in Bethel, who immediately invited him to dinner, falsely declaring that the old prophet had received a more recent word from the Lord rescinding the word the unnamed prophet had received. Shortly after accepting the old prophet's offer, the unnamed prophet was prophetically chastised by the Lord through the old prophet, and was subsequently killed by a lion, who then refrained from further injuring him, the donkey he was riding, or the old prophet, who later picked up the body for burial. The old prophet then requested to be buried with the unnamed prophet since he knew that his prophecy was going to be fulfilled.

In this story we learn that the Lord doesn't lower His expectations for us, even after a powerful demonstration of faith. Second, even though the Lord will often provide us with prophetic confirmations of His word to us, we should be very suspect of any contrary, supposedly prophetic words from others, especially those closely associated with people we know are living in rebellion to the Lord. Third, the Lord expects us to properly discern His word to us and perfectly obey, in spite of any statements to the contrary by others deceptively claiming to be prophesying for the Lord.

Religion and Politics, Fear of the Unknown!

Author: Bob Alexander

There were no Catholics in our town before JFK. If there were, none of the kids in my gang knew about them. It was rumored that they had a church in town somewhere behind the local A & P, but I never found it. I was already in my teens before I saw my first real life Catholic. He didn't look much different than me, but my mother acted like I had spoken to the anti-Christ himself!

As a kid growing up in the south in the early '60s, our church was the spiritual center of our universe. My family was all Southern Baptists, as were most of my friends. A few acquaintances of mine went to the Methodist Church and one to a Church of God. We just didn't know any Catholics and probably would've been afraid of them if one had showed up on our door step.

I don't think they were really hiding; it's just that no one paid them any attention. That all changed when John F. Kennedy became President of the United States of America! My Sunday School teacher at that time, speaking for many in the south, declared in a fearful voice that the 1960 presidential race could mean the end to Christianity as we knew it! There was a catholic running for that high office and as far as she was concerned, he was the devil himself and she knew without a doubt that we would all go to hell if he were elected!

The Bible belt at that time was against anyone or anything that promised change. John F. Kennedy wasn't a Baptist, Methodist, Church of Christ or even Pentecostal! He was an outsider and not to be trusted with the leadership of our country!

These sentiments belonged to many in the south during that decade and they weren't confined to Sunday school teachers. Social changes are often served on the same platter with fear of the unknown. A different wind was definitely blowing through our southern cotton fields.

With President Kennedy in the White House, attitudes in the south slowly began to change; not over night. There was civil unrest in many parts of the country, a war in Viet Nam and we began to find Catholics everywhere in our little town! In fact, folks we'd known for years were now proudly admitting to being Catholic! This was part of the change that was taking place throughout the country.

Most of the crowd I ran with, having been sheltered from anything that might have been considered social or spiritual advancement, soon found that our newly discovered Catholic friends were still the good folks they were before JFK! One of my pals at the time went to Mass every Sunday but I never knew that until after the John Kennedy was elected president.

Sadly in the south, President John F. Kennedy was blamed for every perceived difficulty that anyone faced at that time. While not through his first term as president, he was assassinated in Dallas, Texas one bright November afternoon in 1963.

Everyone who was living at that time knows exactly where and what they were doing when they heard news of the shooting. I was working for a residential construction company at the time, carrying unused concrete blocks to the back of the house we were building, where they would be hauled to the next job.

We had a radio setting on a stack of brick and George Jones was singing when the music was interrupted by a somber voice telling us that President Kennedy had been shot an hour before in Texas.

I recall as vividly as if it were yesterday that there was a dozen laborers and brick masons working, including me, when the announcement was made. There was a moment of shocked silence and then a loud and raucous cheer went up from the laborers and brick masons working on the house.

"I hope the S.O.B. dies!" yelled one of them.
"They ought to give the guy who shot him a medal!" screamed another.
"It's about time someone had the guts to kill that S.O.B." shouted a guy with a shovel in his hands.

Those were a few of the nicer comments from a blue collar working crew in the south at the time. I've often wondered if President Kennedy had announced that he was a Baptist, Methodist or Presbyterian, would he have sparked such outrage in the south. Maybe, maybe not. I guess I'll never know.

Purpose Of Life

By Dorothy K Daigle

The purpose of life has long been a mystery to mankind. Many of us have asked ourselves the questions, "Why am I here?" or "What is the purpose of my life?" The answer has come to me in a wondrous, warm, loving way.

A friend made an observation that I seemed to have contradictory behaviors. I love being alone or hiding out, yet I always wear white including a white headress. (I have dressed all in white since 1996 when I received divine direction to always wear white.) My friend said this doesn't make any sense. Why do I want to hide out and yet wear white which attracts attention? He jokingly suggested that maybe I was possessed.

I love to sit and communicate with Creator, so as I sat contemplating the thought of a person being possessed, I received from Creator, "Yes, you are possessed. You are possessed by Love!" With wondrous joy I thought, "Awesome!"

I had already come to the conclusion that our purpose on this Earth plane had to do with learning and growing spiritually. Now it suddenly occurred to me that our purpose here is to "Learn love." I say, "Learn love," instead of "Learn to love," because I believe "love" is a state of being rather than an action.

When our hearts are filled with unconditional love, the only energy we can emit is love. Therefore, only love energy will flow out from us to all with no intent of action on our part. When our hearts are filled with unconditional love, then we become one with our heavenly Father, just as Jesus was trying to teach us when he said that he wanted us to be one with God the Father just as he was one with Him.

When we have learned love, we have gained eternal life just as Jesus taught. He told us that we gain eternal life when we love God the Father with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor as ourself. Luke 10:25-28. This life in the eternal is not something we are magically awarded when we die. It is "life in love" that we begin to live now. Love is eternal!

So I understand that our purpose on this Earth is to learn love. To live love is a wonderful state of bliss and joy. May we each understand our true purpose and get to know God, experience joyous oneness with Him.

She received her call from Creator in the fall of '92, and was then taught by the great prophet Elijah for four years. She was given four assurances by Creator when He called her. She was told that she was anointed by the Holy One of Israel, that she would be protected until this work was done, that Creator would go before her whenever He sent her somewhere, and that she did not have to prove herself to anyone. God And Trust - If You Trust God, Will God Come Through For You?

By Michael Trachtman

Should You Trust G-d? Trust G-d totally. Trust that G-d takes special care of those who trust in him.

Most of us believe in G-d. You probably believe that G-d knows everything. You probably believe that G-d created everything. You believe that G-d controls everything. You believe that G-d cares about those who are close to him.

Unfortunately, Believing in G-d is easy. Trusting G-d is not easy. Belief is easy; faith is difficult.

If you place your Trust in G-d, then G-d will relate to you differently. G-d has a deal to offer you. If you place your trust in him, then he will make miracles happen for you. Miracles that would not otherwise happen. But, there are no guarantees. G-d decides each situation.

Here's a simple way to think about it. Imagine a dad who loves his kids. If his kids ask for something, even something big; he will consider it. There is no certainty that he will say yes. A good dad has many considerations, not just his love.

Have you ever wanted to trust G-d but just couldn't? You believe in G-d. You know that G-d can perform miracles at every moment. Yet, at the emotional level, you are still afraid. You still are not sure that G-d is directing every moment.

Three things make it difficult to Trust G-d at Every Moment.

1. It seems that hardship attacks everybody equally or even unfairly. Good and bad people get sick; nice people and evil people get hurt or die in accidents.

2. Prayer does not always work.

3. It is difficult to trust G-d, when you are in the middle of fear.

In God's Image - Developing Self-Esteem

By Donald Yates

Powerful forces at work

The concept of building a powerful self-image is a dynamic force and is vital in your quest for personal development and releasing for complete freedom. You must first gain an insight into who you are before you can identify what you are. Then you can take the next step into developing the person you aspire to be. Remember always, even though people are not capable of total self-evaluation, you must be honest and embrace the real you, don't try to be someone else. As you delve deeper into your soul (inner person) you will evolve into your true self. Your whole outlook will become more positive and central. You will come to a realization that you are indeed created in God's own image and as such have the potential for greatness. Greatness is begotten from the father and born of the child. If this were not so He would have told us differently. Soon you, in God's image as a regenerated person, will come forward and the old suppressed person will simply melt away into a harmless memory of the past. In humans, transformation of mind comes with a deeper understanding of self and a closer relationship with God. .

Can create sickness

Many people, as perhaps you are, inflicted with a degenerative disease that permeates your total being. Since birth countless influences and pressures of your environment have controlled your true self. Your have become a product of your upbringing. In order to escape, you must gain the cooperation of those around you for support. Let them know you how important it is for you to change and you will no longer be the person you once were.

Stand on your own two feet

Your sincerity and determination will see you through. God wants you to stand on your own two feet and be an example of certainty on His behalf. You have to "kick the habit" so to speak. Life is indeed an implementation of habits. It's easy to fall into the jaws of compliancy and spiral into mediocrity. You find yourself fighting for life as you drown in a pool of hopelessness. Life as it was meant to be, will escape you because you never heard her call for transformation. You must be reborn, with a new set of values and new outlook on life.

Do not compromise

Most people fail because this is a developmental process that takes a lot of effort. As you begin to experience success; the more successes you have the higher the perception of yourself will become and the more you will crave the enriching feeling of self-completion. In time your horizons will expand like never before. You will see things in a new and exciting light. Obstructions that have hampered your life will melt and disappear in time. Soon your success drive will be a natural function that will operate at optimum efficiency. Failure is not part of the human spirit; it is a false concept that keeps people in bondage to the captivating merchants of the material world. If a person believes he/she can't be successful, then he/she will rely on worldly things to comfort or suppress the success drive.

"Advance, and never halt, for advancing is experiencing success. Advance I say, do not fear resistance for it is only thorns in the path and the blood they draw is minuscule and corrupt."

Stay focused on God

Stay focused on God and build your self-image around that viewpoint. You're your new self-image illuminate God? What is self-image? It is simply the capacity to merge into Jesus' mannerisms and convert them to yourself, with the realization of knowing you are in control of your destiny. While God gives you destiny, He allows you control over it. Your ability to achieve and develop is a control process that you must master. The gift may come from God, but the implementation is ultimately up to you. God supplies the tools and knowledge but He won't do it for you. In fact, no one will do it for you, nor will they care if you fail.

The fact is, it's not who you are that holds you back it's who you think you're not.

And Success will be yours

You are not only created in God's own image, you are created in his likeness; this is an extremely powerful physical force that has the ability to overcome all obstacles in conceiving plans that become realities of expression. Every possible element within God's creation is available for your use in your quest for success. Success is God directed and expected of His Children. All the ingredients, physical and mental are supplied for your use. It's up to you to sort out what to use and what not to use. Neither God nor any one else will do it for you. When you go to a library or log onto the Internet, all the information is there but you must sort through it and put it into use. It's like baking a cake. First, you must have the desire to bake a cake. Second, you must have a game plan, or recipe. Third, you must follow directions, and fourth, complete the process. The best-laid plans are of no account without these ingredients for action.

As a child of God, you are constantly setting an example for others, in one form or another. You are continually moving going toward something, either success or failure. In everyday life all people experience successions of failure and successes. They are called, ups and downs, or valleys and plateaus. In one thing you may excel while in another you may struggle. This is because in the material world, external forces are exerted on you from all directions. In the spirit realm, everything leans toward success, while the material world leans toward failure. Overcoming the resistance of the material world is a matter of realizing where the resistance is coming from and neutralizing it.

Welcome to a sensational world

Everything on earth, action or visualization, influences or exerts force on something else. You must find out what is influencing you in making clear choices. Is it a person, old failures, or skepticism? Never forget who you are; a creation of God made in His image and His likeness. Armed with this knowledge, nothing can stand in your way. You have the power to overcome, achieve, if you can conceive it, and believe it, then you can achieve it. Do not allow someone or something hold you back from your aspirations. Old failures are dead; don't carry around that which is dead. They are rotting, smelling, revolting, in your mind's eye. You must awaken to follow your dreams, it's what God wants and expects of you. Use God's abundance, tools and knowledge, it's unlimited and free for His Children. If you're a person of God, you will understand if you are not it doesn't matter, the same rules apply.

Wise Words From Jack Hayford On The Lakeland, Florida Revival - Todd Bentley, Fresh Fire Ministries

By Paul Davis

Concerning "The Lakeland, Florida Revival" I as a licensed Foursquare minister received an email from the President Jack Hayford, a very humble, prayerful, and wise man of God. I attended a weekt the King's College in Van Nuys, CA and was greatly blessed. in the School of Pastoral Nurture with Pastor Jack and his gracious staff a

Far more than a seasoned instructor, Pastor Jack is a spiritual father who is relatable, warm, and accessible. He had all of us within the school that I attended over to us his home for dinner and a time of fellowship in the Lord. His purity and humility precede his wisdom, opening a wide door of utterance for him. Not to mention Pastor Jack has a solid and proven life of character and fruitful ministry that has impacted countless lives throughout the earth.

That being said, some of the wise words concerning the "Lakeland Revival" (which I attended and a friend from New Zealand prophesied before it happened here in Florida), are worthy of noting and earnestly taking heed to lest we be snared by an evil heart of unbelief or an arrogant heart of proud boasting in ourselves. Christ alone is the rock of ages and the Savior of our soul in whom we must trust.

The following was provided by the Foursquare president, Pastor Jack Hayford, as a response to the many inquiries that have been received regarding the "Lakeland Revival."

Pastor Jack wrote: "...it is far too early to assert anything on any terms. Understandably, the reports of miracle blessing would cause rejoicing in anyone who believes that God does, indeed, work miracles in our time. ...it has not been the practice of The Foursquare Church to draw conclusions hastily in such situations. Our own history as a movement is marked by miracle visitations, both in the United States and in many nations around the world where our ministry extends. We have seen pure, wise, and trustworthy leaders scorned by cynics-at times, even scorned by church leaders who oppose miracles in our time on any terms. That is one reason our general response is to be "slow to speak," as the Bible instructs (James 1:19). It is for that same reason that we tend to position ourselves as Gamaliel did (Acts 5:34-41)-the rabbi whose influence is reported by the Apostle Paul as having shaped his own thinking in significant regards (Acts 22:3)."

My crude summary of such wise instruction and counsel is simply remain humble and prayerful, waiting for all things to be revealed over time. Through prayer and earnest devotion to God and His Word the fruit (or lack thereof) shall speak for itself. Moreover if there be any evil or deception, the Holy Spirit of truth will certainly and swiftly bring it to the light for all to see.

Meanwhile afford every soul and minister God's grace to breathe, believe, and receive from heaven. God's thoughts are above our own and His methods and ways transcend or miniscule methodologies and mental limitations. As Pastor Jack exhorted, let us be available to His Spirit, instructed by His Word, open to His will, and humbly slow to pass judgment on things that are outside our purview. We are not called to answer for any other ministry or its report; our responsibility is to seek to serve our flock, teach our people God's Word and wisdom, and keep ourselves open to to the precious workings of His Spirit.

Let us live in hope, believe for God's best in our day, and counsel our leaders and our people to be filled with the Spirit of God. As Pastor Jack prayed, let us ask the Spirit to give us humility in discernment and to guard our souls from being either gullible, doubt-prone, or resistant to whatever God may seek to do that proves Christ-exalting, Word-verifying, and enduring beyond sensation or mere excitement. With time, whatever is taking place in Lakeland and through activities issuing from its happenings will either verify or discredit the source of the manifestations.

Pastor Jack wisely and as a spiritual father desirous of seeing God's glory revealed in we His people reminds us that we are in an hour of history, both nationally and internationally, that calls us to prayer and fasting. Let us give ourselves to seeking God, and let us give place to His visitation in ways that please His heart, seek His glory, and honor His Son, our Savior, Healer, Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, and Soon Coming King.

Faith To Sustain Us

By: Kim Lokke

God gives us faith to sustain us. No matter what your tragedy is or was, you and I are still here for a reason. You might not realize it, but you are living by faith to sustain you. We can't see it but God gives it to us to sustain us. We're still here aren't we? Why? Because we have faith there must be something more for us. If we didn't have it we might just choose to end it all. In other words, If this is all there is why keep living? Why spend the little energy we have left from our tragedy to keep on going in a place we don't want to be anyway?

Thank God Almighty that there is so much more. The reason I keep living is for the "after party". Why? Because I have faith there is one. Oh and what a party it will be. We will land at the gates of Heaven and the first ones we'll see there to greet us will be the ones that had to leave earth before us. Our broken hearts will be a thing of the past.

O.K. you might be asking, "how do I get this faith?". The bible says that it comes by hearing the word of God. So you read the bible and you go to church to hear the minister read it and then your faith is increased. Pray and ask God to carry you in your time of need. Believe me when I tell you that if I didn't have faith that there is a Heaven I'd leave this world. I lost my beautiful son Josiah when he was only 17 to a semi truck hitting the car he was in. My oldest son Gabriel was in the car following and saw the accident and Josiah died in Gabriel's arms. 10 months later when it was time for Josiah to graduate high school Gabriel was having a very hard time and took a drug to cope and it killed him. His roommates found him dead at his computer. I want to see my boys so bad. My heart is completely shattered. Josiah was famous for always telling people to "keep on keepin' on". I have to keep going to inspire others and then on that special day (when God says it's time, not me) I will go to Heaven to spend eternity with God and my boys. Compared to eternity this life is a short season, so "keep on keepin on".

Faith does sustain us. The bible says that if we believe that Jesus is the son of God and died for our sins that we're saved. I asked Jesus to live in my heart 34 years ago. I'm not perfect just forgiven. We just have to ask Jesus to live in our heart and ask him to help us to live the way we know we should.

Log onto bible.com and look up faith and see all the scriptures there are to help you through. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you on that day that God brings us all home.

Victory In A Hostile Environment

By: Donald Yates

Is God Vengeful? Our Creator may be all Love and compassion but make no mistake about it; God is also wrathful, jealous, hateful and judging; man, in his foolishness, can bring about the wrath of God. One consolation is, good or bad, God knows what we go through every day in our pursuit of life. He knows how weak we are and how easily our heads are turned. He puts up with our foolishness and shortcomings and when his tolerance is challenged, he can become angered and brutal.

Could he then bring wrath upon himself? No, but he could wipe all of creation if he so desired.

The power of choice We note, that from the day when God gave man the power of self-choice, He let man alone in those choices. God has patiently waited on man's progression. It is true that during all this time He has carried on the automatic functions of the body and has even silently prompted man in what to do; but He has let man alone in all other ways. God may hold man as a perfect created being, but He also allows man to discover this fact for himself. And so it would seem that life is no more than a succession of discoveries . . . first in which is Thyself. People must discover themselves first before attempting to engage the world. Perhaps I should say, "rediscover" themselves because discovery lies in the hands of the seeker.

Created In his likeness To suppose that God created an Intelligent being in His likeness and in His image, then placed him in bondage would be to dishonor God and negate the sacrifice of Christ. All of history's great prophets would have no meaning On the other hand, to suppose that God could make man in His image and likeness as a creative being, without the ability to discover himself, would be to suppose an impossibility because man was born of the breath of God. The consciousness of man, must be spontaneous and unquestionable yet reasonable and consistent. Man is a seeking being whose inner self taunts the senses but has the ability to sort out the good from the bad.

The seed of reality is all but hidden within the shell of mankind. But, unlike the irresponsible men of the past, modern man strives to make great discoveries within himself. This journey toward greatness is the essence of man’s drive and purpose. The journey may at times seem difficult and the burden too great to bear but man still harbors a subtle sense within, a drawing toward a spiritual presence, a divine Reality. Thus, the inherent nature of man is forever seeking to express itself in terms of freedom. We would do well to pay attention to this inner voice, this spirit connected center, because it tells us of a life wonderful in its scope, of a love beyond our wildest dreams, of a freedom which only the soul can crave.

As God establishes the laws of His own Being, we must find life force principles through the law.

But . . . wait a minute, didn't Darwin say everything evolves through natural selection?

Random Selection? Could order come from random selection? The very thought of random suggest confusion. Why did some animals change while others didn't? Why aren’t they still evolving? Why aren’t all animals able to cross breed? I can't get a handle on the concept of random selection. There's to much inconsistency – no stability. Everything would be spinning off in different directions, continually evolving, continually changing.

This, then, is the teaching, The Principles of Life Lay In His Laws. As the love of God is perfect, so also are the laws of God perfect. The Laws of God were created especially and exclusively for the experience of people because people are the only living creatures who are able to decipher and enact God’s laws. People must understand and distinguish the different between love and law. Law is the probability while love is the unbiased pouring out of abundance. "Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."

Again I reiterate, Make no mistake about it; God is also wrathful, jealous, hateful and judging and man, in his foolishness, can bring about the wrath of God. Good or bad, God knows what we go through every day in our pursuit of life. He knows how weak we are and how easily our heads are turned. He puts up with our foolishness and shortcomings yet can become angered and brutal.

Self orientated People In our self made world, God silently, patiently awaits for us to discover His real meaning as He is always ready to respond to His exactness. It is true as we progress, our awareness of God becomes more heightened. For instance, think about the discovery of any of nature's forces; we know that they must have always existed; but, so far as our experience is concerned they exist in our reality only after they were brought to light, and we learned how to make use of them. Electricity was a reality in the universe when Moses led the Children of Israel from the land of Egypt, but neither Moses nor any of his followers knew anything about it, and so they did not receive any benefits from its use. This is true of any and all of the natural laws; they have always existed, and always will exist. It is only when we understand them that we can benefit from them. We can only benefit from the laws of God which we understand, the depth and width of which are insurmountable. We cannot gauge the full extent of God, to do so we would have to be God.

God awaits our discovery of the natural laws and our discovery of ourselves in relationship to Him for He knows the more we discover, the more we realize our reliance on Him. Everything hinges on our perception of God and our ability to embrace that perception as true.

Ge 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil

Why is it Always God's Fault? is Loving the Lord Any Less the Answer to our Prayers

Author: Kacy Carr

We ask you God, is the bloodshed in war torn countries really necessary? We ask you God, are Tsunamis and cyclones which cause death of millions really necessary? And God what of the evil doers which without reason kill and plot to maim. God is it really necessary to continue to let them live? The list of "I ask you God" questions is never ending. Proof comes to the fore when we find ourselves in a crisis or that of facing an ordeal of which we turn to god for help - or more often than not to rest blame upon him. Why is it all Gods fault when all wrong doings are a result of our own actions?

At the time of creation the lord gave us the right to choose how we live our lives in hope it would be in peace and harmony and to love one another, not choose evil where many diseased with so much hatred gets satisfaction from others suffering. Is that saying "an act of God" reason enough to blame him yet once again for the cruel disasters? I think it is time to think before making assumptions. These merciless events we have experienced lately could they not have anything to do with interfering with nature, like that of the man made goods which affect the ozone layer, or is scientific study the cause of so much sorrow which have us question where the blame lies.

Could it be behaviour of man affecting our planet i.e. polluting the air, the seas and the disruption of ecosystems which rapidly encourages climate-related disasters which are striking populations in China, Burma and other regions? Who is guilty of the disruption and destruction of the planet.

My love for God gets stronger everyday in prayer for keeping me and those close safe. Fortunately and not wanting to tempt fate we have lived our lives unscathed from harm and live under no threat from earthquake or terrorists bombs. However if ever fate should befall upon me, I dear lord will not point the finger of suspicion in your direction but towards that of my neighbour.

Prayer is the answer for those who believe, it helps ease heartache pain and suffering. Even for those who disbelieve and in denial, prayer too can be the answer.

The death toll from last week's earthquake in south-west China has risen to 40,075, many of which were children. Those who survived now struggle to survive to find shelter for their families. The search goes on for the tens of thousands still missing. Cyclone Nargis has run up the death toll figure in Burma to 78,000. It is said that another 56,000 people are missing. According to local estimates up to 80,000 people died alone around the delta township of Laputta - which had a population of 350,000. Another disaster which not only shocked the world but killed a great many too was the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake. It was an undersea earthquake that occurred at 00:58:53 UTC December 26th (Boxing Day) with an epicenter off the west coast of Sumatra Indonesia. A string of tsunamis followed this.

The number of people believed killed in December's tsunami disaster in Jakarta was 294 000
Indonesia was hardest-hit by December 26th earthquake with a total loss of 240 774 people listed as dead or missing Thailand's toll remained at 5 393 confirmed dead. A further 3 071 people were listed as missing. One of the hardest hit was Sri Lanka losing 30 957 inhabitants to the Tsunami.

God our Father
Your power brings us to birth
Your providence guides our lives
and by your command we return to dust

Lord, those who die still live in your presence
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family, relatives and friends and for all the dead known to you alone.

In company with Christ
Who died and now lives may they rejoice in your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away
Unite us together again in one family
to sing your praise forever and ever

For those not close in proximity and are affected by these disasters and want to help even if it is only to give a cuddle then unfortunately and realistically this may never happen due to distance or that of the authorities denying you access. The best way is to send money to the right groups who already have organizations on the ground, working to provide lifesaving essentials to the victims. Donations can be made to a group that's on the front lines, engaged in crucial, person-to-person rescue efforts: Tzu-Chi (tzuchi.org/global) Tzu-Chi is an organization made up mainly of volunteers. Almost 100% of donations go directly to the suffering who need food, water, medical care and somewhere to sleep.

We need to pay more attention to how we treat our planet to help prevent future "natural" disasters. Who is to blame, Yes we know cyclones, hurricanes, tsunamis have occurred on our planet long before human life started upsetting the climate, however over the last six years we have noticed an evident acceleration of climate-related disasters.

There is no doubt that man-made climate change is now altering, which we connect to floods and hurricanes. What next? these events of late are but small blips in comparison to the planetary backlash that may be on its way. The population correction that's on its way over the next 100 years involves hunger, illness, soil crop failures and drought which could result in the loss of a billion lives. Can we prevent needless deaths, yes by making changes which include a radical change in CO2 emmissions, reduce toxic chemical use, agricultural reforms and end genetic pollution through GM crops. Our government need to take these matters seriously and make our planet safe for our kids – there kids and so on.

Why Satan Got Kicked Out Of Heaven

God created Lucifer, now known as Satan, as one of the three top angels in Heaven. Lucifer had responsibility for the angels assigned to worship, while Michael leads the warrior angels who oppose evil and unrighteousness, and Gabriel guides the angels assigned to bring God’s messages to people.

As part of his creation, God gave angels a certain amount of free will. They didn’t get as much freedom as the humans God created, but they got some.

It’s not news that letting people–and angels–make their own decisions means some dreadful decisions get made. And so it was with Lucifer.

As he led his angels in worshiping God, Lucifer decided some of that worship should be coming his way. As he saw it, he was as good as God and deserved equal honor. In fact, he decided, he should be God.

That decision cost Lucifer everything.

Now, cut to the idyllic Garden of Eden, paradise on earth and God’s gift to Adam and Eve. The Garden included every possible delight–without the need for hard work to maintain it. And God walked with Adam and Eve each evening.

Adam and Eve had only one restriction: They couldn’t eat the fruit from a single tree in the middle of the Garden. Since they were surrounded by miles and miles of trees and plants bearing every imaginable delicacy, it wasn’t a burdensome limitation.

One day, as Adam and Eve eyed the forbidden tree with interest, Lucifer, now Satan, showed up. Eternally angry at his loss of position–for no good reason, as far as he could see–Satan embarked on his lifetime quest: Turning people against God.

Whenever you deal with temptation, you realize Satan is a smoothy. And shrewd. He makes disobeying God and doing the wrong thing seem logical, even attractive–not to mention wise, clever and sophisticated. That last one gets to a lot of people.

Appearing as a beautiful angel of light, Satan engaged Eve in a conversation. He persuaded her that eating the forbidden fruit would be a good thing. It would, Satan purred, give her all knowledge and make her like God. How could it possibly be wrong to be as wonderful and as wise as God? Satan neglected to mention the fearsome price he’d paid for that idea.

Convinced, Eve bit into the fruit, then told Adam to eat it, too.

That forbidden misuse of their free will cost Adam and Eve dearly. Put out of the Garden, heavy labor and painful childbirth became their lot.

What does this have to do with us all these thousands of years later? And how can it matter when there’s no Heaven or Garden of Eden from which to get the old heave-ho?

Well, it has to do with us because it’s still happening. We joke about people thinking they’re God, then casually grab for God’s prerogatives.

We decide God’s truth–absolute truth–no longer holds. We develop our own “truth,” a better, although variable, truth to lead our way–straight into chaos. Without a standard to rely on, societies collapse.

And we decide we’re destroying the world God created. The implication, of course, is that we have the power to thwart God’s purposes. Shouting and finger-pointing supposedly prove we can trump God. People strut and puff with delusions of power.

But for all our bravado and certainty, we fear tomorrow. Loneliness hollows us out. Insecurity and defeat filter in. We live far below God’s intentions for us.

We’re reaping the consequences of our actions, words and attitudes, the consequences of grabbing for God’s authority. We don’t recognize our situation, though. We assume the life we’re experiencing is normal.

But it’s not. Or at least, it shouldn’t be.

The solution is simple: Let God be God. Figure out what he’s up to, then get with the program. You’ll do a whole lot less heavy lifting that way. My book, How to be a Christian Without Being Annoying, can get you started.

Your Body Is The Member Of Christ

By Chris Ayakhilome

To most Christians, being a member of the body of Christ means they are joined to the Lord spiritually in a mystically body. But the opening scripture shows us it isn't just our spirits that are joined to the Body of Christ; our very physical bodies are part of His body! Notice the Apostle Paul in the scripture above didn't say, "Your body is a member of Christ," which would have led us to believe he was speaking in a generic sense; he said "your bodies are the members of Christ", meaning he is referring to our individual bodies. We are joined to the Lord spiritually and physically!

No wonder the Bible says "we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones (Ephesians 5:30). This means that the life of Christ is manifested through our bodies. Christ literally lives in you! He dwells in your spirit and expresses Himself through your physically body. This is why sickness, disease, and weakness ought not to thrive in your physical body. When you're conscious of this truth that Christ lives in you, it will be impossible for you to experience any infirmity!

The reason many have suffered so much trouble in their physical bodies regarding their health is their lack of knowledge. According to the provisions of the gospel it ought not to be possible for any child of God to be sick or suffer affliction of any kind.

You're the temple of the Holy Spirit, Christ rules and functions in your physical body. Meditate on this truth and let it gain the ascendancy in your spirit. Live with the daily consciousness that your body is the member of Christ. As you do, sin, sickness, and disease will be completely banished from your life.

Chris passionately writes to teach people all over the world about Jesus Christ. Lord's Day Sabbath - Is Sunday The Lord's Day?

If the Lord's Day is Sunday, then why is not the Lord's Day the Sabbath? "I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet." (Revelation 1:10) John here simply states that he "was in the Spirit on the Lord's day." Although it is true that eventually the term "Lord's day" came to be used for Sunday, no evidence indicates this was the case until about a century after the Book of Revelation was written! In fact, there is likelihood that the term was applied to "Easter" Sunday before it was applied to a weekly Sunday.

But the Roman province of Asia, to which the Revelation applies, had no Sunday-Easter tradition, either at the time the Revelation was written or even a century later. Thus "Lord's day" in Revelation 1:10 could not refer to an Easter Sunday.

Most pointedly of all, there is neither prior nor contemporary evidence that Sunday had achieved in New Testament times a status which would have caused it to be called "Lord's day." Another day - the seventh-day Sabbath - had been the Lord's holy day from antiquity (see Isaiah 58:13) and was the day on which Christ Himself and His followers, including the Apostle Paul had attended religious services.

The Book of Acts reveals that the only day on which the Apostles repeatedly were engaged in worship services on a weekly basis was Saturday, the seventh day of the week. The Apostle Paul and his company, when visiting Antioch in Pisidia, "went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and sat down." (Acts 13:14) After the Scripture reading, they were called upon to speak. They stayed in Antioch a further week, and that "next Sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God." (Acts 13:44)

In Philippi, Paul and his company went out of the city by a riverside on the Sabbath day, to the place where prayer was customarily made (Acts 16:13). In Thessalonica, "as his manner was," Paul went to the synagogue and "three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures." (Acts 17:2) And in Corinth, where Paul resided for a year and a half, "he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks" (Acts 18:4)

Thus the evidence in the Book of Acts multiplied regarding apostolic attendance at worship services on Saturday.

In sum total, there is not one piece of concrete evidence anywhere in the New Testament that Sunday was considered as a weekly day of worship for Christians. Rather, Christ Himself, His followers at the time of His death, and apostles after His resurrection regularly attended services on Saturday the seventh day of the week.

The question now arises as to when and how Christian Sunday observance arose. This is a vital question because we know that Sunday is not the "Lord's Day."
